Demo Exit Package

What’s This?

This sample project serves as an example of what True North delivers in a design-only package. The material choice, purchase parts, and assembly details are optimized for cost and don’t reflect our typical industrial standard, but we trust you understand the exception. The files and structure of this exit package reflect what you would typically see for a design package with True North Design.

The purpose of these files are for an exit package demonstration only. This would only work for sensors rated 11-24v as the batteries that are compatible with this design run at 18-20v. Lithium-ion batteries are dangerous and any construction or use of this tester is done under your own personal liability, for a safe and functional box check out this product: Banner demo box here.

Features and Function

  • Three input methods: Pigtail, M8, and M12
  • Pigtail clamps: +20v, 0v, Signal 1, and S2
  • Fuse to protect the battery, equipment, and operator
  • Switch to prevent over-draining your battery (disconnect when not in use!)
  • Indicator lights: Power, S1, and S2

What we use this for

During assembly of machines, this handy little unit lets us set cylinder switches during assembly before power, adjust diffuse or retroreflective sensors to parts, and for quick testing of sensors in the shop to verify applications.

Quite a few industrial sensors are rated for this voltage, but it’s always good practice to check. Some sensors such as proxes without cables pre-attached don’t have threaded connection that can rotate freely and won’t work on the bulkheads. More expensive bulkheads with rotary capacity or a pigtail connection to the clamps works around this.
